NON-PHARMACOLOGICAL METHODS FOR PAIN TREATMENT IN THE ELDERLY

Resumo: Objective: To describe the types of non-pharmacological treatment used in the elderly. Methods: A bibliographic survey was conducted between July and September 2019, through the following databases: Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde (BVS), Medline, Lilcs and BDENF Results: We found 126 studies from which 9 articles and 1 postgraduate thesis that met the pre-established criteria were selected. Conclusion: There were several therapies found in the study, such as physical, cognitive behavioral, educational and playful therapies. It was concluded that the use of Integrative and Complementary Practices (PICS) such as Reiki, Auriculotherapy, Medicinal Plants, Acupuncture and Lian Gong has great positive effects in reducing pain and other persistent diseases in this age group, prevention of chronic diseases and stress. , because these techniques seek the balance between physical, mental and social well-being.

Resultados: Foram encontrados 126 estudos dos quais selecionou se 9 artigos e 1 tese de pôs graduação que atendiam os critérios pré-estabelecidos. Conclusão: Diversas foram as terapias encontradas no estudo, tais como terapias físicas, cognitivo-comportamentais, educacionais e lúdicas.
