Resumo: The aim of this work was to articulate a research project with teaching and the academic extension. It counted on the analysis of processes of interaction among students of the first cycles of the elementary school with the development of activities directed by a tutor, student of the Pedagogy course, who proposed a study of the place. They produced records in their diaries, as narratives of the observations, describing the activies (reading, text writing, drawing and collage) that made reference to the students’ life spaces. Thus, we noted the potential of contributions resulting from the study of the place in the alphabetization and literacy process context.

Contou com a análise dos processos de interação entre alunos e alunas dos primeiros ciclos do Ensino Fundamental mediante o desenvolvimento de atividades orientadas por uma tutora, aluna do curso de Pedagogia, que propunha um estudo da localidade. Foram produzidos registros em diários de campo, na forma de narrativas de observações. Foram descritas as atividades de leitura, produção de textos, desenhos e colagens que faziam referencia aos espaços de vivência dos alunos.
