Resumo: The proliferation of information and communication technologies (ICTs) in the daily routine of the organizations makes individuals work with greater sense of urgency and technology present at all times. This stress in professional lives, gathering with another aspects of life can cause burnout. The purpose of this study was to analyze: the association between technostress and the burnout syndrome, and, also, the moderating influence of personality traits on the relationships between technostress creators and burnout. The research was quantitative, descriptive and cross sectional with the participation of 261 respondents, professionals from different areas and who use ICTs in their daily routine at work. As a result, it was found that the moderating influence of personality traits in the technostress and burnout was not confirmed in the sample used. In order to enrich the research, it was also analyzed the relationship of the personality traits and the technostress as antecedent factors to burnout. As a result, is was found significant associations, such as: conscientiousness with cynicism; conscientiousness with professional efficacy; extraversion with emotional exhaustion; and extraversion with professional efficacy. Neuroticism and technostress were presented as an important and significant associations with all factors of burnout.

Neuroticism and technostress were presented as an important and significant associations with all factors of burnout.A rápida evolução e crescente utilização das tecnologias de informação e comunicação (TIC) pelas organizações, faz com que os indivíduos trabalhem com maior sentido de urgência e com a tecnologia presente em todos os momentos. Este estresse na vida profissional, juntamente com problemas em outros aspectos da vida, pode desencadear a síndrome de burnout, definida como um estado de exaustão física, emocional e mental. Este estudo teve por objetivo verificar: a relação do tecnoestresse e a síndrome de burnout, assim como a influência moderadora de diferentes traços de personalidade na relação entre o tecnoestresse e o burnout. A pesquisa foi de natureza quantitativa, descritiva e transversal com a participação de 261 respondentes, profissionais de diversas áreas, e que utilizam as TIC em sua rotina diária no trabalho. Como resultado, verificou-se que a influência moderadora dos traços psicológicos na relação entre tecnoestresse e burnout não foi confirmada na amostra utilizada. Com o intuito de enriquecer a pesquisa, e de forma exploratória, foi analisada também a relação das variáveis de personalidade e do tecnoestresse como fatores antecedentes ao burnout. Como resultado, obteve-se associações significantes entre os fatores consciensiosidade e cinismo; conscienciosidade e eficácia no trabalho; extroversão e exaustão emocional; e extroversão e eficácia no trabalho.
