This work cares for the main aspects involved in the evaluation and conceptual characteristics concerning the principles and practice of teaching at distance focusing the industrial training at distance for professionals in maintenance using internet as the main tool, and the challenge of relating the technology with the directed method for the professional technician. Internet is a tool that can be used for the general teaching and this allows and easy access to an infinity of authentic and updated informative materials besides concrete and interactive examples in the perspective of transforming the information received by electronic means in solid acquired knowledge. Before this, the work analysis relapses in a first moment on the presuppositions that created an industrial training, the training in the industrial maintenance area and the aspects of the structure that believes in the industrial training at distance, next, we will go deeper into the knowledge concerning the techniques that involve the training for professionals in the area of industrial maintenance at distance. It is also presented the experience of the vocational courses at distance through several means and portals experiments of education at distance related to the industrial maintenance area
