Resumo: | Imbricated in the discussions on the associativism and unionism of the education workers, mainly referring to the contributions this issue can bring to the Brazilian educational history, we aim, with this research, to recover some aspects of the social and political trajectory of the Teachers` Union of ABC. Fundamentally, we sought to understand the existing contradictions in the process of establishment and consolidation of this union, which represents the group of workers from the teaching private sector in this densely populated metropolitan region of Brazil. The research aims to reassemble its historical trajectory starting with the initiative of a group of teachers who were inserted in the mobilizations that happened in the 1970s and 1980s due to the policies implemented by the military civil dictatorship that historically took place at that moment. In 1984, the Teacher’s Professional Association of ABC was founded (APRO-ABC) and years later, on March 13th, 1986, the SIMPRO ABC received its Union Register. The course of this entity was guided by classist attitudes as we can see in the case of the strike support given by other categories workers of the region, the pioneer affiliation, among the private educational entities, to the Unique Worker’s Central (CUT) and even in campaigns of massification of afilliations of associates shown in slogans such as “Educating is a political act, unionizing, too!”The research was based on interviews with teachers who taught at the schools of the cities that constitute the known ABC Paulista and on the syndical directors and activists acting there in the studied period and also on their newsletters and journals, as we aim to seek difficulties overcoming, theoretical and methodological, mainly caused by the substantial lack of studies on the political and organizational efforts of the education workers who function in the private sector. |

Fundamentalmente, buscamos comprender las contradicciones existentes en el proceso de creación y consolidación de este sindicato, que representa el conjunto de los trabajadores de la red privada de enseñanza de esa importante y densamente poblada región metropolitana brasileña. La investigación busca remontar su trayectoria histórica creada a partir de la iniciativa de un grupo de maestros que estaba inserto en el conjunto de las movilizaciones populares existentes en las décadas de 1970 y 1980, como consecuencia de las políticas orquestadas por la dictadura civil-militar, que miraba históricamente en aquel período. En 1984 era creada la Asociación Profesional de los Profesores del ABC (APRO-ABC) y, años después, el 13 de marzo de 1986, el SINPRO ABC recibía su carta-sindical. El recorrido de esa entidad fue pautado por posturas clasistas, como fue el caso del apoyo a las huelgas de las demás categorías de trabajadores de la región, fuera también la primera filiación – entre las entidades de la enseñanza privada – a la Central Única de los Trabajadores (CUT), como también las campañas de masificación de filiación de asociados, traducidas en eslóganes como "Educar es un acto político, sindicalizarse también!" La investigación buscó basarse en entrevistas con los maestros que enseñaron en las escuelas de las ciudades que constituyen el llamado ABC paulista y en los directores y activistas sindicales actuantes en el período estudiado; como también en sus boletines y periódicos, todo eso pautados en la búsqueda por la superación de las dificultades, teóricas y metodológicas, principalmente, ocasionados por la sustancial ausencia de estudios acerca de los esfuerzos políticos y organizativos de los trabajadores de la educación que actúan en la enseñanza privada.Imbricada nas discussões sobre o associativismo e sindicalismo dos trabalhadores em educação, sobretudo no que se refere às contribuições que o tema pode trazer para a história educacional brasileira, pretende-se com essa pesquisa resgatar alguns aspectos da trajetória social e política do Sindicato dos professores do ABC. Fundamentalmente, procuramos compreender as contradições existentes no processo de criação e de consolidação desse sindicato que representa o conjunto dos trabalhadores da rede privada de ensino dessa importante e densamente povoada região metropolitana brasileira. A pesquisa procura remontar a sua trajetória histórica criada a partir da iniciativa de um grupo de professores que estava inserido no conjunto das mobilizações populares existentes nas décadas de 1970 e 1980 em decorrência das políticas orquestradas pela ditadura civil militar que vigia historicamente naquele período. Em 1984 era fundada a Associação Profissional dos Professores do ABC (APRO-ABC) e, anos depois, em 13 de março de 1986, o SINPRO ABC recebia sua carta-sindical. O percurso dessa entidade foi pautado por posturas classistas, como foi o caso do apoio às greves das demais categorias de trabalhadores da região, a pioneira filiação, entre as entidades do ensino privado, à Central Única dos Trabalhadores (CUT) e mesmo campanhas de massificação de filiação de associados, traduzidas em slogans como "Educar é um ato político, sindicalizar-se também!".
