Territorial heritage and local knowledge: analysis based on the fighting history of the settlers of Cafundão (Mariana-MG, Brazil)

Resumo: The history of the struggle for the creation of the of Cafundão Agrarian Reform Settlement Project is linked to the historicity of Brazilian land concentration, which gives meaning to social movements for access to land. As well as, he particularly describes a struggle for the implementation of a specific Brazilian policy, in order to recognize the possession of this same land - which had been a place of life for generations - in the context of real estate and mining pressures that surround it. Uniquely, the Cafundão struggle portrays the political recognition of local knowledge (turning soapstone into artisanal production) as the main (re) productive link to the lands of the Cafundão, which ensures the survival of these families and nurtures the validation of their narratives of belonging. This article discusses the activation of territorial heritage through local knowledge.

Como también, describe particularmente una lucha por la efectividad de una política brasileña específica, de forma a reconocer la posesión de esta misma tierra -que ya era lugar de vida durante generaciones-, en el ámbito de presiones inmobiliarias y mineras que la circundan. La lucha del Cafundão retrata el reconocimiento político del saber local (torneado del esteatito en producción artesanal) como principal vínculo (re) productivo (en) las tierras del Cafundão, lo que garantiza la supervivencia de estas familias y nutre la validación de sus narrativas de pertenencia. En este artículo, se dialoga sobre la activación del patrimonio-territorial por medio del saber local.A história de luta pela criação do Projeto de Assentamento (PA) de Reforma Agrária Cafundão está vinculada à historicidade da concentração fundiária brasileira, que dá sentido de existência aos movimentos sociais pelo acesso à terra. Como também, descreve particularmente uma luta pela efetivação de uma política brasileira específica, de forma a reconhecer a posse desta mesma terra ”“ que já era lugar de vida há gerações -, no âmbito de pressões imobiliárias e minerárias que a circundam. Singularmente, a luta do Cafundão retrata o reconhecimento político do saber local (torneamento do esteatito em produção artesanal) como principal vínculo (re)produtivo (n)às terras do Cafundão, o que garante a sobrevivência destas famílias e nutre a validação de suas narrativas de pertencimento.
