RIVERINE COMMUNITIES INVITE COLLABORATION IN THE MIDDLE RIVER SOLIMÕES, AMAZON: FOR A KIN ARCHAEOLOGY

Resumo: This article presents transformations within archaeological research with tradi­tional communities that live in Sustainable Use Conservation Units in the middle river Solimões, Amazonas state, Brazil. Initial research in the region focused on the socialization of archaeological heritage, but was subsequently abandoned due to the centrality of kin relationships and the importance of becoming kin with these communities, something these collaborative projects demand. By listening to the memories and life experiences of the te­achers, leaders, fishermen and women, artesans, and other community members, notions surrounding territory and its materialities - which imply a multi-temporality of things and a non-linear view of time - were understood. In the same way, the act of familiarization with people or things updates these same family histories. This process invites us to think of a kin archaeology, characterised by the meeting of researchers and the local population.

La investigación inicial, que tenía el foco puesto en la socialización del patrimonio arqueológico, fue extendida, debido a la centrali­dad que tienen las relaciones de camaradería y del “volverse pariente” de las comunidades, que demandan trabajos colaborativos. Al escuchar la memoria y la experiencia de vida de profesores/as, líderes, pescadores/as, artesanas, entre otros, se fueron comprendiendo nociones sobre el territorio y sus materialidades, que apuntan hacia la multitemporalidad de las cosas y la no linealidad del tiempo. Asimismo, el volverse “parientes de las cosas” actualiza las historias familiares propias, proceso que nos invita a pensar en una arqueología pariente, marcada por el encuentro de investigadores/as y población local.O artigo apresenta as transformações do trabalho arqueológico com comunidades tradicionais, que habitam Unidades de Conservação de Uso Sustentável no Médio rio Solimões - AM. A pesquisa inicial com o foco na socialização do patrimônio arqueológico, alargou-se devido à centralidade das relações de compadrio e de se tornar parente nas comunidades, que demandam por trabalhos colaborativos. Por meio da escuta da memória e da experiência de vida de professores/as, lideranças, pescadores/as, artesãs entre outros, foram compreendidas noções sobre o território e suas materialidades, que indicam para a multitemporalidade das coisas e a não linearidade do tempo.
