This work presents the results of a research that aimed to discover the degree of influence of interpersonal relations in the teaching of Sciences. Throughout a trajectory of forty years dealing with Teaching, it was possible to perceive how important the component relationship is in the teaching-learning process. Data were gathered through the evidence of important facts of the teaching activity, and stated here under the form of a professional autobiography, in which it was tried to report every important stage that was performed during this pedagogical process. During this path, it was possible to verify the importance of the interpersonal relationships put in practice by the teacher in the classroom, while developing his functions, as an efficient and practical way to ease the communication between him and the students. In order to do this, support was searched in the reading of authors, all linked to Education and to the theme, from whom information was extracted, supporting the conclusions that were established from the research with students from Pelotas Catholic University. A fact was seen as significant in the general context of teaching performance: the professor’s verbal communication, as the most appropriate manner to promote learning. In this investigation, the reports that were collected showed that the clear, vibrant, concise and convincing exposition of the class subjects, as well as the straightening of friendship bonds, between the professor and his students were fundamental for the good development of the theoretical and practical work and, as a consequence, for the final satisfactory results.This way, in this work, it was tried to bring to light the value of interpersonal relations in teacher formation, which, together with the teacher’s bag of specific knowledge, personal and ethical position, become instruments to be put to use when developing teaching activity and safe references of the steadiness the educative process is performed.
