School psychology and third-age students: some questions about scientific production

Resumo: | Permanent education for the elderly is being mostly offered by an increasing number of Universi ties ofthe Third Age. Nevertheless, school psycologists seem unaware of older leamers. Some hy pothesis that might explain the lack oftheoretical studies and research focusing aged students are examined in this article: (a) a reduced amount ofavaiable national literature on this specific matter; (b) disagreements on definitions regarding thc subjcct of thc educational process; (c) difficulties in establishing educational objectives, and (d) in assessing the fitness ofthese objectives in address ing potentially diverse needs and interests of a wide range of age groups. |

Apesar disso, os psicólogos escolares parecem pouco atentos a esses aprendizes.
