Psychoanalysis and art: the cross of sublimation

Resumo: Some ofthe theoretical aspects linking aesthetics and psychoanalysis are analised following Freud's works. A historical analysis ofthedevelopment of psychoanalysisapplied to art is conducted, pointing out thecritics to this approach and some models of research, recovering the polemics between Freud and Jung about sublimation as a drive destination and the sexualization of drives. Some contemporary theories about psychoanalysisand art arereviewed. Followsa short discussion abouttheThing- dasDing-and art, asstated in Lacan's conceptualizationof sublimation and its implications to a possible psychoanalytic aesthetics.

É conduzida uma análise histórica da psicanálise aplicada à arte, apontando-se as críticas a essa abordagem e alguns modelos de pesquisa, retomando a polêmica entre Freud e Jung sobre a sublimação como destino pulsional e a sexualização das pulsões. Algumas teorias contemporâneas sobre psicanálise e arte são brevemente revistas.
