Resumo: It addresses authorship in the standardization of Brazilian documents, specifically through the norms of the Brazilian Committeeof Information and Documentation by the Brazilian National Standards Organization. It aims to present and reflect on theconcepts of authorship, analyze and compare the normative guidelines regarding authorship, and reflect on the BrazilianNational Standards Organization norms and the authorial issue. It is a bibliographic, documentary and comparative research,based on the norms published by the Brazilian National Standards Organization. Therefore, the analysis possesses two aspects:the definition and structure of the document, where it is explained what each norm presents about the element of authorship,and the guidelines for describing authorship in the document. Finally, the norms present the relationship between their conceptand the place of authorship in documents, as well as revealing the importance that is attributed to authorship in the elaborationand citation of documents.

Tem como objetivos apresentar e refletir sobre osconceitos de autoria; analisar e comparar as orientações normativas sobre a autoria; e refletir sobre as normas da AssociaçãoBrasileira de Normas Técnicas e a questão autoral. Trata-se de uma pesquisa bibliográfica, documental e comparativa, com basenas normas publicadas pela Associação Brasileira de Normas Técnicas. Sendo assim, a análise possui dois aspectos: o primeirocom relação à definição e à estrutura do documento, onde se explica o que cada norma apresenta sobre o elemento autoria, e osegundo com relação às orientações sobre a descrição da autoria no documento.
