Analysis of the websites of cathedrals in Europe: Structure, content and communication strategies in the pandemic era

Resumo: | This research arises with the aim of analyzing the quality of the websites of European cathedrals and determining how successful their online communication strategies have been. To do, a qualitative methodology based on content analysis and virtual ethnography is applied. As a result, it is inferred that, when speaking of cathedrals, one speaks of a heritage resource highly exploited by cultural tourism on an international scale, but with the COVID-19 pandemic crisis they migrated their tourist proposals from face-to-face to virtual environments, promoting immersive tours, with the use of new technologies through its web portals. The challenge that remains to be taken up is to create, in the field of religious tourism, true user-centered experiences in a context of the metaverse and digitized and infotechnological lives. |

Para ello, se aplica una metodología cualitativa basada en el análisis de contenido y la etnografía virtual. Como resultado, se infiere que al hablar de catedrales se habla de un recurso patrimonial altamente explotado por el turismo cultural a escala internacional, pero con la crisis pandémica de la COVID-19 migraron sus propuestas turísticas de la presencialidad a los entornos virtuales,potenciando recorridos inmersivos con el uso de las nuevas tecnologías a través de sus portales web.
