Resumo: Re/evant aspects concerníng the educatíonal polítícs of the Escolade Bíblíoteconomía e Documentação de São Carlos (EBDSC)have been collected in order to eva/uate the adjustment of the School courses to theworlcmarketrequirements. According to the data fromEBDSCand Conselhoquestíonaires applied to the School a/umní-graduatefrom 1960 to 1985 - íthas been found out that, ín the majoríty. the professíonals were women, marríed,and ín tull maturíty.They believed havíng the necessary skílls for a good professíona/ perfomance, and emphasízed the ímportance of professíona/izing - subject concents. They apprecíated the school as a who/e, as wel/ as the facultyand the subjects. They crítícízed conceptual aspects.and aspects of the currículum. The main suggestíon was re/ated to the content of the subjects. On the who/e. the eva/uatíonof the School has been positive.

On the who/e. the eva/uatíonof the School has been positive.Com o objetivo de avaliar a adequação do curso da Escola de Biblioteconomia e Documentação de São Carlos (EBDSC) em relação as exigências do mercado de trabalho, levantou-se aspectos relevantes para a polfticaeducacional da Escola. Atravésde levantamentode dados naEBDSC e no Conselho Regional de Biblioteconomia - 88 Região (CRB-8) e da aplicação de questionário aos ex-alunos da Escola, formados entre 1960 e 1985, verificou-se que esses profissionais eram, em sua maioria, do sexo feminino, casados e em plena maturidade. Consideraram ter habilidades necessárias ao desempenho profissional e ressanaram a importância doconteúdo das disciplinas profissionalizantes.Valorizarama Escola como um todo, o corpo docente eas disciplinas. Criticaramaspectos conceituais edas disciplinas do currfculo. A principal sugestão foi quanto ao conteúdo das disciplinas.
