Among them, the body appears as an object of disputes, even though its theoretical formalization only occurred in the 20th century. In this sense, the aim of this article is to think about how the body appeared/appears in theological anthropology. For that, it wants to: present the elements of its two sources (philosophical and biblical), discuss its relations with embodiment, and explore some underlying dogmatic elements. The methodology used will be bibliographic with content analysis. The historical perspective will be revised from the dialogue with contemporary critics. It is concluded, therefore, that philosophical dualisms do not prevail over the imaginary of the sacred scriptures and can/must be overcome. Moreover, the importance of an integral anthropology is highlighted, where the body is not only the depositary of some value but occupies a central place in the Christian experience.he body appeared/appears in theological anthropology.
