Resumo: | This article aims to debate the contexts of initial teacher training in performing arts in Goiás and its implications for teaching art theater in public schools. We turned to authors such as Barbosa (1978), Charlot (2013), Matias (2020), Manzi (2019) to think about the place of theater in schools and teacher training. We faced the problem of filling the school's modulation framework with teachers who are not licensed in the area, resulting in factors that compromise the teaching and learning of theater at school.We reflect below on practices that mischaracterize the identity of the professional in the performing arts, weakening both the teaching and learning of this art and its already hostile place in the social context. We also covered legal milestones in the theater teacher training process. |

Recorremos a autores como Barbosa (1978), Charlot (2013), Matias (2020), Manzi (2019) para pensar o lugar do teatro na escola e a formação de professores. Enfrentamos o problema do preenchimento do quadro da modulação da escola com professor não licenciado na área, acarretando fatores que comprometem o ensino e aprendizado do teatro na escola. Refletimos a seguir sobre práticas que descaracterizam a identidade do profissional em artes cênicas, fragilizando tanto o ensino e a aprendizagem dessa arte quanto seu lugar já hostilizado no contexto social.
