Abstract: this article aims to discuss how housing policies in Brazil, especially the Minha Casa Minha Vida Program, based on its imperative of realizing the dream of owning a home, will produce subjectivation modes based on the indebtedness of the beneficiary population. We analyzed official documents that guide the implementation and maintenance of the PMCMV, highlighting discourses that act in order to govern the life of the beneficiary population. We point out that with the use of specific technologies that aim to subject the population, the current housing policy underway in the country will produce acceptability of the Program, as well as the construction of an economically and subjectively indebted subject, which will serve the interests of the neoliberal game. in progress, thus evidencing the inseparability between the design of public policies and the production of subjects.
