DARK SIDE OF ORGANIZATIONAL LIFE: A BIBLIOMETRIC STUDY ON ORGANIZATIONAL MISBEHAVIOR

ABSTRACT The understanding the conduct (misaviors) committed in organizations has attracted over decades many debates and research. The study aims to characterize international publications that had addressed the ‘unethical shortcuts committed in/by organizations' theme. This research is configured as an exploratory-descriptive study, and to clarify that, a systematic search was carried out on the Web of Science of keywords related to the theme, thereafter it was followed by bibliometric analysis. Therefore, it was used the VOSviewer software for data analysis and, the Iramuteq software for content analysis. 327 publications were found and the international potential of the studies was verified as well, confirming that the researches covered have a high degree of impact and citations involving several countries and universities, with emphasis on the USA and the University of Michigan. The research presents some of the terms used in the theme; international journals, universities, and the most influential networks of quotation. Beyond that, the coupling of text segments into 4 classes, called: unethical behavior, ethical dilemmas, research on ethics, and corporate crimes. The research has a gap in relation to research related to the factors that lead executives to commit this inappropriate behavior.
