CAPITALISM AND WORK: RELATIONS OF PRECARITY IN POSTMODERNITY

Resumo: The aim of this article is to discuss the advances and contradictions of the capitalist system, using the changes that took place in society after the crisis of feudalism as a reference. As a theoretical study carried out through literature narrative review, it presents a critical analysis of capitalism development and the belief in the progress of mankind. It is considered that such progress has occurred through practices of domination and exclusion, with the emergence of social stratification which intensified the precariousness of relations, including the labour sphere. The control over body, rhythms and productivity, so far inherited from the factory context, becomes insufficient, and inaugurates a stage of appropriation of subjectivity and affection. Therefore, the notion of freedom of choice proves to be truly fragile and alienated in a consumer society, a patent reality in the relations settled among the worker and the organization.

Se trata de un estudio teórico con análisis crítico del desarrollo del capitalismo y de la noción de progreso de la humanidad, realizado a través de una revisión narrativa de la literatura. Se considera que tal progreso ocurrió mediante conductas de dominación y exclusión, habiendo el surgimiento de las estratificaciones sociales, intensificando la precarización de las relaciones, incluso en el ámbito del trabajo. El control sobre el cuerpo, los ritmos y la productividad, hasta entonces heredado del contexto fabril, se vuelve insuficiente y se inaugura una fase de apropiación de la subjetividad y de los afectos. Así, la noción de libertad de elección en una sociedad de consumo se muestra verdaderamente débil y enajenada, realidad que también se manifiesta en las relaciones establecidas entre el trabajador y la organización.Este artigo tem por objetivo discutir os avanços e as contradições do sistema capitalista, tendo por referência as mudanças ocorridas na sociedade após a crise do feudalismo. Trata-se de um estudo teórico, com análise crítica do desenvolvimento do capitalismo e da noção de progresso da humanidade, realizado por meio de revisão narrativa da literatura. Considera-se que tal progresso se deu mediante práticas de dominação e exclusão, tendo o surgimento de estratificações sociais intensificado a precarização das relações, inclusive no âmbito do trabalho. O controle sobre o corpo, os ritmos e a produtividade, até então herdados do contexto fabril, tornam-se insuficientes e inauguram uma fase de apropriação da subjetividade e dos afetos.
