To make of one's self a gift of love: Ibn ʿArabī and the qualities (ṣifāt) that God loves

Resumo: This article deals with a section of the great text that Ibn ʿArabī dedicated to love -chapter 178 of The Meccan Revelations-, where the Andalusian master coments seven qualities (ṣifāt) that, according to the Qur'an, arouse God's love towards human beings. Throughout our work we will analyse the Akbarian commentary and we will show how the key to actualising these qualities consists in making one's own self a gift of love. Or in other words: to make a movement analogous to that of God, as the Omni-Compassionate (al-Raḥmān), Who at every moment, unconditionally and without expectation of anything in return, lovingly assists each and every one of His creatures.

A lo largo de nuestro trabajo analizaremos el comentario akbarí y mostraremos cómo la clave para actualizar dichas cualidades consiste en hacer del propio ser un regalo de amor.
