Resumo: “The loyal subject”, by Heinrich Mann, while seeking to deal with the relations of German society with the imperial construct, showing through excessive authority and selective morality and appearance a “satirical representation of power”, also presents in his literary journey other elements that make up this society as a whole, such as the cultural and religious precepts that govern it. Based on this assumption, the present work aims to explore the antisemitic quality rooted in pre-Nazi German culture, based on the society exposed in that book, through documentary analysis. Therefore, at first, a brief exposition - based on a bibliographic review - of the author and the work will be made, finally giving space for an analysis about the religiosity and antisemitism present in the narrative. Through this analysis, it was possible to observe that antisemitism is represented in the book as a cultural characteristic of pre-Nazi Germany and, moreover, as a characteristic element of a positive expression of religiosity, being a legacy of the religious construct that had long been formed.

Partiendo de este supuesto, este trabajo tiene como objetivo explorar la cualidad antisemita arraigada en la cultura alemana prenazi, a partir de la sociedad expuesta en la obra en cuestión, a través del análisis documental. Por ello, en un primer momento se realizará una breve exposición -basada en una revisión bibliográfica- del autor y la obra, dando finalmente espacio a un análisis de la religiosidad y el antisemitismo presentes en la narrativa. A través de este análisis, se pudo observar que el antisemitismo se representa en la obra como una característica cultural de la Alemania prenazi y, además, como un elemento característico de una expresión positiva de la religiosidad, siendo un patrimonio del constructo religioso que se había formado durante mucho tiempo.  O Súdito, de Heinrich Mann, enquanto busca tratar acerca das relações da sociedade alemã com o construto imperial, evidenciando por meio da autoridade excessiva e da moralidade seletiva e de aparência uma “representação satírica do poder”, também apresenta em seu percurso literário outros elementos que compõem o conjunto dessa sociedade, como os preceitos culturais e religiosos que a regem. Mediante tal pressuposto, o presente trabalho objetiva explorar a qualidade antissemita enraizada na cultura alemã pré-nazista, tomando como base a sociedade exposta na obra em questão, por meio de análise documental. Para tanto, em um primeiro momento, será feita breve exposição – a partir de revisão bibliográfica – do autor e da obra, dando espaço, finalmente, para uma análise acerca da religiosidade e antissemitismo presente na narrativa.
