NOTES ON THE MEDICAL SOUL HEALING IN THE PERSPECTIVE OF VIKTOR FRANKL

Resumo: The aim of the article was to clarify the conceptual and practical aspects of spiritual care from the perspective of the medical ministry according to Viktor Frankl’s thinking. The anthropological conception and the dynamics of the human spirit have been highlighted, in its aspects of self-transcendence and self-distancing. Therefore, an analysis of both the main concepts addressed in the medical anthropology of Viktor Frankl and his casuistries was carried out. In that way, it was possible to identify some spiritual needs of homo patiens, especially the aspiration to find a meaning in suffering. It concludes by pointing to the demand for a new mission in the area of health: The spiritual care, resulting in a medical pastoral.

Se ha destacado la concepción antropológica y la dinámica del espíritu humano, en sus aspectos de la autotrascendencia y autodistanciamiento. Para este fin, se hizo un análisis tanto de los principales conceptos abordados en la antropología médica de Viktor Frankl, como de sus casuísticas. De esta forma, fue posible identificar algunas necesidades espirituales del homo patiens, en especial la necesidad de encontrar un sentido al sufrimiento. Se concluye señalando la demanda de una nueva misión en el área de la salud: el cuidado espiritual, resultando en una pastoral médica.O objetivo do presente artigo foi clarificar os aspectos conceituais e práticos do cuidado espiritual na perspectiva do ministério médico conforme o pensamento de Viktor Frankl. Destacam-se a concepção antropológica e a dinâmica do espírito humano, em seus aspectos da autotranscendência e do auto distanciamento. Para tanto, procedeu-se uma análise tanto dos principais conceitos abordados na antropologia médica de Viktor Frankl, quanto de suas casuísticas. Dessa forma, pôde-se identificar algumas necessidades espirituais do homo patiens, sobretudo o anseio para encontrar um sentido no sofrimento.
