Resumo: This article aims at the analysis of the concepts of time involved in narratives produced by Jornal do Brasil concerning its own history in the centenary issue in 1991. This is intended to investigate what kind of expectations about journalistic practices were experienced in Rio de Janeiro at that time. The main hypothesis is that the newspaper articulates a forecasting skill based on its symbolic capital anchored to its trajectory.
