Resumo: This article is the result of a research that, inspired by ethnography and through interviews with journalists and editorial professionals and the discourses mobilized in covers, photographic essays and in journalistic articles of Men’s Health Portugal and Junior, tried to understand which meanings about masculinities were mobilized there. Here, more specifically, the attention is focused on the regimes of visibility that frame black men in these magazines. From bibliographical references about gender/masculinities, identities and differences and black identities, it is asked: which places, from their discourses, Men’s Health Portugal and Junior magazines reserve for black men? The erasure of these bodies or, more specifically in Junior’s case, a regulated visibility (hyper-sexualization of the black man) are some of the main conclusions.

The erasure of these bodies or, more specifically in Junior’s case, a regulated visibility (hyper-sexualization of the black man) are some of the main conclusions. Editora da PUCRS - ediPUCRS2021-01-07info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://revistaseletronicas.pucrs.br/ojs/index.php/revistafamecos/article/view/3661810.15448/1980-3729.2020.1.36618Revista FAMECOS; Vol. 27 No. 1 (2020): Single Number; e36618Revista FAMECOS; Vol. 27 Núm. 1 (2020): Un solo numero; e36618Revista FAMECOS; v. 27 n. 1 (2020): Número Único; e366181980-37291415-054910.15448/1980-3729.2020.1reponame:Revista FAMECOS: Mídia cultura e tecnologiainstname:Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS)instacron:PUC_RSporhttps://revistaseletronicas.pucrs.br/ojs/index.php/revistafamecos/article/view/36618/26540Copyright (c) 2020 Revista FAMECOShttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessMendonça, Felipe Viero Kolinski Machado2022-02-04T19:03:09Zoai:ojs.revistaseletronicas.pucrs.br:article/36618Revistahttps://revistaseletronicas.pucrs.br/ojs/index.php/revistafamecosPRIhttps://revistaseletronicas.pucrs.br/ojs/index.php/revistafamecos/oai||revistafamecos@gmail.com1980-37291980-3729opendoar:2022-02-04T19:03:09Revista FAMECOS: Mídia cultura e tecnologia - Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS)false
