Resumo: | Estela sem Deus, a work by Jeferson Tenório released in 2018 by publisher Zouk and re-released in 2022 by publisher Companhia das Letras, tells the story of Estela, a thirteen-year-old black girl, whose childhood cannot be full, as she needs to deal with the responsibilities of the world of work and survival. The plot follows the development of the character, from thirteen to sixteen years old, during the late 1980s and early 1990s, transiting between Rio Grande do Sul and Rio de Janeiro. Racial discrimination, gender violence, social prejudice, misery are some of the defined contours of his trajectory. In this work, we propose an analysis of the work relating the concept of Formation Novel, the Bildungsroman (MORETTI, 2020; LUKÁCS, 2000, PINTO, 1990). To do so, we will dialogue with other concepts such as space-metaphor (GULLÓN, 1980), Utopia (BENTIVOGLIO, 2020), and the female Bildungsroman (PINTO, 1990). Our goal is to characterize the way a character goes through a transformational journey during the narrative, which characterizes a Bildungsroman. However, Estela, being a young black woman, does not carry out a journey of perfect completion, with utopian contours, as in the novel of formation. The proposal to read this story as a novel about the formation of a young black woman presents a potential for bringing the work closer to young studies, allowing a dialogue with contemporaries of Brazilian youth literature. |

La trama sigue el desarrollo del personaje, desde los trece hasta los dieciséis años, a fines de la década de 1980 y principios de la de 1990. La discriminación racial, la violencia de género, los prejuicios sociales, la pobreza son algunos de los rasgos definitorios de su carrera. En este trabajo, proponemos un análisis de la obra referente al concepto de Novela de Formación, el Bildungsroman (MORETTI, 2020; LUKÁCS, 2000, PINTO, 1990), espacio metáfora (GULLÓN, 1980), Utopía (BENTIVOGLIO, 2020) y Bildungsroman femenino (PINTO, 1990). Nuestro objetivo es caracterizar la forma en que un personaje atraviesa un viaje de transformación durante la narración, que caracteriza a un Bildungsroman. Sin embargo, Estela, siendo una joven negra, no sigue un camino de perfecta terminación, con contornos utópicos, como en la novela de formación. La propuesta de leer esta historia como una novela sobre la formación de una joven negra tiene el potencial de acercar la obra a los estudios de la juventud, permitiendo un diálogo con contemporáneos de la literatura juvenil brasileña. Estela sem Deus, obra de Jeferson Tenório, narra a história de Estela, uma menina negra de treze anos, cuja infância não pode ser plena, pois desde cedo precisa lidar com as responsabilidades do mundo do trabalho e da sobrevivência. A trama acompanha o desenvolvimento da personagem, dos treze aos dezesseis anos, durante o final da década 1980 e o início da década de 1990. Discriminação racial, violência de gênero, preconceito social, miséria são alguns dos contornos definidores de sua trajetória. Neste trabalho, propomos uma análise da obra relacionando-a ao conceito de Romance de Formação, o Bildungsroman (MORETTI, 2020; LUKÁCS, 2000, PINTO, 1990), espaço metáfora (GULLÓN, 1980), Utopia (BENTIVOGLIO, 2020), e o Bildungsroman feminino (PINTO, 1990). Nosso objetivo é caracterizar como a personagem passa por uma jornada de transformação durante a narrativa, o que caracterizaria um Bildungsroman. Entretanto, Estela, por ser uma jovem mulher negra, não realiza uma jornada de finalização perfeita, com contornos utópicos, como no romance de formação clássico.
