Essential components in the acquisition of written language: Review of literature from 2015 to 2020

Resumo: | This article presents a review of Brazilian literature from 2015 to 2020, with the following objectives: a) mapping the recent Brazilian production on acquisition of written language with a focus on cognitive sciences of reading; b) categorize production on the essential components of literacy; c) identify the main trends on the topic; and d) to point out potential areas for the development of the theme. The Periódicos CAPES and SciELO databases were searched for studies related to the six essential components of literacy: phonemic awareness; systematic phonic instruction; fluency in oral reading; vocabulary development; understanding of texts; and written production. After applying the exclusion criteria, 18 references were found, summarized and analyzed by the authors. The results indicate that, among the articles located in the cognitive sciences of reading perspective, works on phonemic or phonological awareness are predominant (13 of the 18 studies reviewed), and this component appears related to other skills for language acquisition. It was also found that most studies (15 out of 18 studies) proved strong or decisive relationships between the development of essential components and the acquisition of written language. |

Se realizó una búsqueda en las bases de datos de CAPES y SciELO relacionadas con los seis componentes esenciales de la alfabetización: conciencia fonémica; instrucción fónica sistemática; fluidez en la lectura oral; desarrollo de vocabulario; comprensión de textos; y producción escrita. Con la aplicación de los criterios de exclusión, quedaron 18 referencias resumidas y analizadas por los autores. Los resultados indican que los trabajos sobre la conciencia fonémica y fonologica son predominantes (13 de 18 estudios), y este componente generalmente parece estar relacionado con otras habilidades para la adquisición del lenguaje. También se descubrió que la mayoría de los estudios (15 de 18 estudios) demuestran relaciones fuertes o decisivas entre el desarrollo de componentes esenciales y la adquisición del lenguaje escrito. Este artigo apresenta revisão da literatura brasileira no período de 2015 a 2020 com os objetivos de: a) mapear as pesquisas brasileiras recentes sobre aquisição da linguagem escrita com foco nas ciências cognitivas da leitura; b) categorizar a produção sobre os componentes essenciais na alfabetização; c) identificar as principais tendências; e d) apontar áreas potenciais para o desenvolvimento do tema. Foi realizada busca nas bases de dados Periódicos CAPES e SciELO para estudos relacionados aos seis componentes essenciais da alfabetização: consciência fonêmica; instrução fônica sistemática; fluência em leitura oral; desenvolvimento de vocabulário; compreensão de textos; e produção escrita. Após aplicação dos critérios de exclusão 18 referências foram mantidas, sumarizadas e analisadas pelas autoras. Os resultados indicam que, dentre os artigos situados na perspectiva das ciências cognitivas da leitura, as pesquisas sobre consciência fonêmica e fonológica são predominantes (13 dos 18 estudos revisados), e este componente aparece, na maioria dos trabalhos, relacionado com outras habilidades para aquisição da linguagem.
