Resumo: This paper presents a study of the process of appropriation of digital literacy experienced by students of distance undergraduate courses at the Fe-deral University of Minas Gerais - FUMG. The objective is to investigate the online reading practices used by students, through the digital environments available for academic studies. In its methodology, although essentially interpretative and qualitative, at specific moments of data processing, the research also involves the quantitative approach. Data collection was performed using an online question-naire and navigation simulation. The results show that students perform skills and strategies of navigation and reading online efficiently, despite realizing a lack of these students in doing a more accurate investigative research. We noticed that the new classroom and the new notebook are challenges that require old and new practices and bring a new textuality in which the screen breaks the superficiality of the printed text in a broader and more current conception of reading, causing not only material changes, as well as the way in which information is presented.

O objetivo é investigar as práticas de leitura on-line utilizadas pelos alunos, por meio dos diversos am-bientes digitais disponíveis para os estudos acadêmicos. Em sua metodologia, embora essencialmente interpretativa e qualitativa, em momentos específicos de tratamento dos dados, a pesquisa envolve também a abordagem quantitativa. A coleta de dados foi realizada a partir de questionário on-linee de simulação de navegação. Os resultados evidenciam que os alunos realizam habilidades e estratégias de navegação e de leitura on-line eficientemente, apesar de perceber uma carência desses alunos em fazer uma pesquisa investigativa mais apurada.
