Resumo: The French travelers who carne to Brazil from the 16th through the 18th centuries produced records in which it is possible to detect visions and sights that evolved, not necessarily according to current chronological splitterings, which refer to the 16th century as a Modem Age. Medieval remainings are evident until the 17th century, an effective change taking place only from the 1700's onwards.

Hasta el siglo XVII las estancias medievales son evidentes, que produce un cambio efectivo solamente a partir de los setecientos.Os viajantes franceses que vieram ao Brasil entre os séculos XVI e XVIII deixaram relatos nos quais é possível detectar olhares que foram se transformando, nem sempre de acordo com os cortes cronológicos tradicionais, que se referem ao século XVI já como Idade Moderna.
