Resumo: This essay aims to analyze the trajectory of the artist Joaquín Torres- García (1874-1949), his narratives, memoirs and paintings made between the Old and New World. The narratives are focused from the books Historia de mi vida (1939) and La ciudad sin nombre (1941) and the works executed by him during the trip and upon arrival in Montevideo. The essay presents a reflection on the displacements, the artistic and personal experiences and intentions of his books.

Los relatos se centran en los libros Historia de mi vida (1939) y La ciudad sin nombre (1941) y en el trabajo realizado por él durante el viaje y llegada a Montevideo. El ensayo presenta una reflexión sobre los desplazamientos, las experiencias artísticas y personales, y las intenciones de sus libros.Este ensaio tem por objetivo analisar a trajetória do artista Joaquín Torres-García (1874-1949), suas narrativas, memórias e pinturas feitas entre o Velho e o Novo Mundo. As narrativas são enfocadas a partir dos livros Historia de mi vida (1939) e La ciudad sin nombre (1941) e dos trabalhos executados por ele durante a viagem e na chegada em Montevidéu.
