Teaching, gender and training repertories: Considerations on pedagogical mediation practices in adverse contexts

Resumo: The article proposes a reflection on the pedagogical mediation practices configured in teaching, based on the experience of Professor Rosa. She worked at a school located in a slum complex in the city of Rio de Janeiro: Maré. Based on the statements given by the teacher, we will highlight a set of issues related to the place of gender and social belonging that intersect with the survival tactics of a northeastern migrant in the city of Rio de Janeiro, as well as with the repertoire of practices cultural / pedagogical mediation elaborated and put into action in the referred school institution. It is divided into five sections: the first develops a brief reflection on teaching, issues of gender, class and prejudice of place; the second addresses Professor Rosa's personal and formative trajectory; the third highlights some of its pedagogical mediation practices at Maré school; the fourth reflects on the symbolic dimensions that permeate teaching as a profession associated with the female gender, analyzing its repercussions on representations about the domestic / private space and the public space of the school; the fifth section indicates some of the mediation practices that the teacher, then acting as Principal, established with the outside school community and the Final Considerations take up some key ideas presented in the article.

Trabajó en una escuela ubicada en un barrio pobre de la ciudad de Río de Janeiro: Maré. A partir de las declaraciones dadas por la docente, destacaremos un conjunto de cuestiones relacionadas con el lugar del género y la pertenencia social que se cruzan con las tácticas de supervivencia de un migrante nororiental en la ciudad de Río de Janeiro y configuran el repertorio de prácticas de mediación cultural / pedagógico elaborado y puesto en acción en esa institución escolar. El artículo se divide en cinco apartados: el primero desarrolla una breve reflexión sobre la docencia, cuestiones de género, clase y prejuicios de lugar; la segunda sección aborda la trayectoria personal y formativa de la profesora Rosa; la tercera destaca algunas de sus prácticas de mediación pedagógica en el colegio Maré; la cuarta reflexiona sobre las dimensiones simbólicas que permean la docencia como profesión asociada al género femenino, analizando sus repercusiones en las representaciones sobre el espacio doméstico / privado y el espacio público de la escuela; la quinta sección indica algunas de las prácticas de mediación que el docente, luego actuando como director, estableció con la comunidad escolar externa y las Consideraciones Finales retoman algunas ideas claves presentadas en el artículo.O artigo propõe uma reflexão em torno das práticas de mediação pedagógica configuradas na docência, a partir da experiência da Professora Rosa. Ela atuou numa escola localizada em um complexo de favelas da cidade do Rio de Janeiro: a Maré. Tendo como base os depoimentos concedidos pela professora, vamos destacar um conjunto de questões ligadas ao lugar de gênero e de pertencimento social que se cruzam com as táticas de sobrevivência de uma migrante nordestina na cidade do Rio de Janeiro e moldam o repertório de práticas de mediação cultural/pedagógicas elaboradas e postas em ação na referida instituição escolar.
