Resumo: Studying the italian migration — working-class movement relationship, the text focuses the conflict between class and national identity in the community of the Italian workers migrated to São Paulo at the beginning of the 20th century. Particularly, is underscored the political, mutualist and syndicalist intense activity of the italian socialists and republicans of São Paulo city.
