Summary: This article aims to approach the Kantian viewpoint on the problem of war from an International Relations perspective. Based on his moral philosophy and the essay “To Perpetual Peace”, it may certify which hypotheses the war would be acceptable; and what consequences it might have for the individual and the society. Furthermore, considering the Kantian deontological ethics archetype, the article looks at how individual duty may, given the categorical imperatives, become a collective obligation. Finally, in the reality of the current world, it verifies whether there is the possibility of applying the Kantian precepts, relating them to the UN peacekeeping operations and the prospects of moral accountability in the construction of world peace among nations.

Editora da PUCRS - ediPUCRS2021-08-06info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://revistaseletronicas.pucrs.br/ojs/index.php/conversasecontroversias/article/view/4010510.15448/2178-5694.2021.1.40105Conversas & Controvérsias; Vol. 8 No. 1 (2021); e40105Conversas & Controvérsias; v. 8 n. 1 (2021); e401052178-569410.15448/2178-5694.2021.1reponame:Conversas & Controvérsiasinstname:Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS)instacron:PUC_RSporhttps://revistaseletronicas.pucrs.br/ojs/index.php/conversasecontroversias/article/view/40105/26967Copyright (c) 2021 Conversas & Controvérsiashttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessLandgraf, Saulo Freire2021-08-30T12:41:09Zoai:ojs.revistaseletronicas.pucrs.br:article/40105Revistahttps://revistaseletronicas.pucrs.br/ojs/index.php/conversasecontroversias/indexPUBhttps://revistaseletronicas.pucrs.br/ojs/index.php/conversasecontroversias/oaiteresa.marques@pucrs.br2178-56942178-5694opendoar:2021-08-30T12:41:09Conversas & Controvérsias - Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS)false
