WOMEN IN NATIONAL POLICY: REPRESENTATIVITY IN THE FEDERAL SENATE

Resumo: This work deals with the representativeness of Brazilian women in places of power, focusing on the Federal Senate and the affirmative actions used to change this scenario. Data, legislation and bibliographic references were used for its development. It aims to analyze the lack of female representation in our country, going through a national and global historical context, aiming to demonstrate the origins of women's rights as a specific social group. Then, we analyze the actions that the Brazilian State takes to seek equality between genders in our society and its effectiveness, demonstrating the social difficulties faced by women and later the political difficulties found by this social group in places of power. Finally, we analyze the concept of representativeness and its benefits and bring examples of some women who are in places of power and who collaborated with laws for their social group.

Foram utilizados dados, legislações e referências bibliográficas, para seu desenvolvimento. Tem por objetivo analisar a falta de representatividade feminina em nosso país, passando por um contexto histórico nacional e mundial, visando demonstrar assim as origens dos direitos das mulheres como grupo social específico. Em seguida, analisamos as ações que o Estado Brasileiro toma para buscar a igualdade entre os gêneros em nossa sociedade e sua eficácia, demonstrando as dificuldades sociais enfrentadas pelas mulheres e posteriormente as dificuldades políticas encontradas por este grupo social em locais de poder.
