Resumo: This research seeks to analyze the religious charismatic expressions and practices promoted by the Christ is Our Show Evangelization Association through two events: Christ is Our Show (CNS) and the homonymous Music Festival (FMC). We aim to understand how the Association’s experiences reshaped its actions, employing different perspectives and religiosity types. We carried out the documentary collection – photos, videos, interviews, and field descriptions – and participant observation at said events. We perceived the sacralization and the use of profane elements, producing moments of worship in spectacle form. In 2019, the FMC was structured to resume an exclusivist tradition, albeit with charismatic elements, which creates something that is intended to be old, but that is new, as shown by the multiple facets of Catholicism in contemporaneity.

Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo2020-12-11info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://revistas.pucsp.br/index.php/rever/article/view/5188510.23925/1677-1222.2020vol20i3a9REVER: Journal for the Study of Religion; Vol. 20 No. 3 (2020): Religião e cultura pop; 129-146REVER: Revista de Estudos da Religião; v. 20 n. 3 (2020): Religião e cultura pop; 129-1461677-1222reponame:Rever (São Paulo.
