Resumo: This article aims at developing, based on Paul Ricoeur art hermeneutics, a fruitful dialogue with modern religious architecture, while questioning about its revealing role towards the Sacred. The fair-faced concrete finish, known as brutalist art, has here a total claim. Poetic and metaphorical aspects constitute its symbology, so, we attest the fair-faced concrete finish as poetic-symbolic space per se. Hence, we emphasize that the subtle equilibrium found at the iconoclastic virtualities of these modern temples and the symbolic reemergence from the Sacred follow an essential role in São Paulo modern religious architecture.
