Introduction: In the historical course of humanity, several conceptions around women and their bodies were created and inscribed on their skins. The gaze that created these representations belonged to men, leaving women at the mercy of this point of view. This historical baggage is currently presented in different ways. With the definition of an unattainable beauty standard, the demand for perfection and the countless social rules demanding obedience from women, their bodies were denaturalized. Subjected to various interventions in order to conform to the demands of society and, thus, be a part of it. Aim: To analyze Brazilian women's beauty standard from the perspective of the theory of cultural complexes in Analytical Psychology. Method: Several references from relevant authors for the theoretical foundation of analytical psychology were analyzed, as well as references that historically rescue women's body and beauty. Results: It was found that women were historically defined through their bodies, and society used them to control them. There were many different beauty standards through the ages, but there was always some standard of what was considered beautiful, and women needed to conform to it in order to be accepted in society. Today it is similar, and this can result in suffering, that leads women to behave in harmful ways with themselves to reach a standard that is unattainable due to the development of technology. It is concluded that the beauty standard is, therefore, a cultural complex shared by women
