This research project analyzes the regulation of the right to information by Law 12,527/11, which was created with the main goal of increase the public transparency, and also to provide a more open and accountable government for Brazil. The strengthening of the culture of secrecy aims to enrich the communication between the Public Administration and society, major and real interested, enabling that personal interests not gain instead of public interests. It is important to emphasize the importance of using the available technological tools, especially beacause the information must be made available on Internet sites – except by the municipalitiof up to 10 thousand inhabitants -, thus complying with the principle of efficiency. Because of that, social control gains greater agility and scope, which facilitates the exercise of this right by the citizen. In this sense, the instruments through which society can inspect the State will be studied, which will contribute to the consolidation of the Democratic Rule of Law and to the fight against corruption
