Utilização de redes sociais em componente curricular de curso técnico presencial na ETECAP/CPS

This work deals with the use of social networks like support in learning face-to-face technical course students. The popularization of social networks worldwide and increasing the time that students remain connected to the Internet, brings the reflection on the feasibility of using this tool as a way to give meaning to learning. The use of social networks in education is still seen with prejudice by educators, who feel unprepared for the use of technologies in the classroom. The use of technology in the classroom is a feature that comes from meeting with the aspirations of new students, the "digital natives". These students demonstrate mastery of skills and competencies in the use of different media, opening a range of possibilities for the teacher. The technical courses Paula Souza Centre are offered, usually in two periods: afternoon and evening. It is very common, mainly for students during nighttime, reporting of lack of time for research and study, outside the classroom. However, these same students report the frequent use of social networks to contact your friends. Building on this issue, open a social network on Ning, putting content for my curriculum component (production and control of pharmaceuticals) and registered my students. This way, there were interesting stuff to read and videos, allied to the appeal of social networking, with possibilities for posting photos, including those photos taken as record of laboratory lessons and results of experiments. The objective is to assess the use of social networks as support to the classroom. The result of research carried out with students who have used the social network Ning as support a component curricular technical course in biochemistry, offered by Paula Souza Centre in ETECAP, in Campinas
