Psychoanalysis owes a lot to Literature. Freud, who is known to love to read, searches examples into literary creations to show or to base his ideas. Nevertheless, according to some Literature experts, Psychoanalysis has contributed just a little to its understanding. Freud has been the first one to use Psychonalysis into the analysis and study of literary works. After that, not only psychoanalists, but also literary critics have been producing analysis with the Freudian theory point of view. However, such analysis have been the target of anfavorable critics. The main objection is realated to its redutionism, that is, secondary aspects of the work have received a special attention, doing so a comprehension of the work as a whole is lost. The objetive of this paper is to show, through a theoretical study, that Psychoanalysis can be used as embasement to the literary analysis, without falling into the reductionism. In order to prove our idea, we intend to analysis the transgression in Clarice Lispector’s short story, Devaneios e embriaguez duma rapariga, and to amplify this theme to the her work considered as a whole
