Os significados do movimento manguebeat sob a perspectiva da psicologia analítica

This work aimed to analyze poetic images of the manguebeat musical movement, from the theoretical framework of Analytical Psychology, also trying to understand the importance of this movement for the social and cultural scene of Recife (Brazil) in the 1990s. Initially we look into the ideas of authors who have addressed issues such as the Brazilian soul and its cultural complexes, the dominance of European patriarchy over populations that came to be dominated and enslaved – indigenous and black people – and how this is structurally reflected in terms of contemporary social inequality. We also approach the conflict between the Armorial Movement and the manguebeat as an attempt at cultural renewal towards world integration. The method used was the bibliographic survey of authors of Analytical Psychology and Anthropology as well as memoirists of the manguebeat movement. We complemented the study by using the Content Analysis method, through which we analyzed the lyrics of the selected songs. We conclude that these have the meaning of denouncing the social conditions of the marginalized population. They also reveal an ambiguity between opposite poles that, in fact, acted in the same way, such as police and criminals, elite and marginalized, heroes and anti-heroes. We understand the movement as the emergence of a warrior hero who also brought violence and destructiveness, analogous to the adolescent dynamics of denial of the past and other generations. Finally, we perceive a constructive meaning of the movement, which was to propose art as an alternative to help overcome the deep psychological conflict resulting from existing cultural traumas
