This research aims to investigate how the paradidactic books can contribute to the teaching and learning of the English Language in Elementary levels. We intend to examine if these books can be considered children's literature, and to do so, their contents will be analyzed according to literary text features for the young readers described by Coelho (2000), Faria (2010), and Zilberman (2003). The content analysis methodology were established by Franco (2005). From the contents of paradidactic material analysis which is the corpus of our research we intend to answer the questions that guided the development of such research. We worked on the hypothesis that the paradidactic books can be considered as children's literature and contribute in a satisfactory manner to the teaching and learning of the English language in primary education. However, some activities are inadequate and should therefore be supplemented by the English teacher
