Psychoanalysis found in the cinematic device the possibility of articulating its concepts with the subjective reality expressed in the film. The cinema is increasingly used in psychoanalysis to extract an imaginary object and make the aspects of human subjectivity more visible, it also precedes the yearnings of a time, a state of society and civilization. Thus, beginning from the intersection between cinema and psychoanalysis, the present work, with an analysis of the cinematographic language of filmmaker Pier Paolo Pasolini and his film Theorem, intends to set a perspective into Jacques Lacan's concept of object a. The classic Italian Neorealism' novel of that time has as its main feature in the Poetry Cinema and its style elevates the image of everyday life to the sacred, surpassing the frontiers of perception. According to the subjective aspects of the characters, this monograph seeks to bring some understanding about the artistic and theoretical production of two of the most prestigious authors in the intellectuality field.
