This research aims to present the characteristics of democratic educational management as a possibility of growth for the management team and its contribution in the ongoing training of teachers in relation to the school community. In the light of the general objective the specific objectives were born: To identify the historical principles of democratic educational management and the characteristics of the manager; Know and present the characteristics of democratic management; To study and to point out the role of the democratic manager, his contribution in the continuous formation of the teachers and in the construction of the Political Project Pedagogical. From this reflection I put as a research problem: what characterizes a democratic management in the construction of its Political-Pedagogical Project (PPP) aimed at improving the work of the school? Therefore, this research intends to deepen the reflection about the democratic management in the educational units or in any other organization. In addition, to identify the role of the administrative manager, in order to guarantee the participation of the school community in decisions of pedagogical, financial and administrative scope, bringing the various instruments that favor this participation. The results highlight the importance of democratic management for the quality of teaching and show that, although important advances have already taken place, there is still a need to deepen understanding around the theme, broaden the scope for discussion and join forces in the fight for Effective democratic management, a fundamental condition for improving quality in education
