Um olhar sobre a participação dos alunos em uma gestão democrática: a perspectiva da orientação educacional

The goal of this thesis is to analyze the students engagement in collective actions conducted by educational institutions under perspective of democratic management through mediation Educational Guidance. Encouraging students participation in democratic management is one of the twenty targets established by “Plano Nacional de Educação” (Brazilian National Education Plan). An exploratory research was conducted to define the concept of democratic school management, its implications for the students development and for the success of institutions based on work of authors like Lück (2009; 2010) and Albuquerque (2005). The analysis of the roles of Educational Guidance presently indicates a need for an effort to develop individuals morally autonomous, who understands the importance of your participation within the society and who are able to challenge and modify the world in a responsible manner. From authors such as Tognetta and Vinha (2011) and Puig, Martin, Escardíbul and Novella (2000), were listed some procedures that Educational Guidance can promote at school in order to encourage the democratic participation of the students. Finally, it was discussed the true meaning of democracy at school, relating it to the relations of power from Foucault’s theory (2007)
