Resumo: | Today, the area of education has been influenced by significant elements of change such as socio-political, scientific and technological advances, highly competitive environment, recession, decreased intrinsic value of the work, which gives way to search for extrinsic reward. These factors have a strong influence on society and the professional scene, with personal consequences for employees who work in these areas and for those who depend on it. This monograph is organized around the question: How to meet the demands of teaching in higher education and maintain quality of life? and general aims: to analyze the relationship between the demands of teaching in higher education and living conditions with quality personnel. This objective was divided into three specific objectives that guided the phases of literature and drafting the chapters of this report, namely: List the skills and abilities required of the teacher of higher education; describe the characteristics of teaching in higher education, considering their requirements and professional relationships; Characterizing quality of life, relating this concept with the working conditions of university teachers. This is not a conclusive work, but his closing remarks indicate the need for new studies to develop the issue and for the indication of preventive measures of teacher illness |

Esses fatores exercem forte influência na sociedade e no cenário profissional, com conseqüências pessoais para os trabalhadores que atuam nestas áreas e para os que dela dependem. Esta monografia se organiza em torno da questão: Como atender às exigências do trabalho docente no ensino superior e manter a qualidade de vida? e tem como objetivo geral: analisar a relação entre as exigências do trabalho docente no ensino superior e as condições de vida pessoal com qualidade. Este objetivo foi subdividido em três objetivos específicos, que orientaram as fases da pesquisa bibliográfica e a elaboração dos capítulos deste relatório, a saber: Enumerar as competências e habilidades requeridas do professor de ensino superior; Descrever as características do trabalho docente no ensino superior, considerando suas exigências e relações profissionais; Caracterizar qualidade de vida, relacionando esse conceito com as condições de trabalho dos professores universitários.
