This study aimed to understand the Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in the information society and its usefulness in the classroom. Sought to answer the question "? What and how ICTs can contribute in the school environment" Thus, the overall objective focused on understanding the use of ICTs in the educational environment and the specific objectives: to know the history of the internet; understand the scope of the Information Society in teaching and learning processes; meet the standards for the use of ICT in the classroom and what the rules defined for their use; prepare a proposal for work to help the teacher of the elementary school in order to work in a qualified manner using ICT in the classroom; and research proposals games and programs for the use of different tools in the classroom. For the methodology, the research was developed in the form of literature, in which several readings were taken about the new technologies based on several authors such as Almeida, Coll, Monereo, Gadotti, Kenski. Finally, it is concluded that the use of ICT in the classroom should be directed way, planned, and organized for learning. Simply inserted in the classroom, without a goal, a goal, a systematization, does not work, does not add. It's something that can become a negative instrument, without favoring knowledge
