Reflexão filosófica na formação do professor: uma práxis necessária

This is a bibliographical-theorical research, philosophic-educational, which discusses the importance of the philosophical reflexion in the teacher’s career understood as a necessary praxis. We tried to answer in what sense the philosophical reflexion is fundamental for the teacher´s training and practice and if it is possible to be the link between theory and practice. The motivation for choosing the topic is about the indicators of the functional literacy, school failure and the eternal way of thinking by a hype that Brazilians like to take advantage in everything. We started the study addressing the characteristics of a being that lifelong becomes a human being, from the perspective of the thought of men’s emancipation (Paulo Freire), his complex relation with the Cosmos (Edgar Morin) and the ability to interfere in the conditions offered to them to live well. Then, briefly, we outlined an overview of the Brazilian society marked by slavery relations, of power and glamour of a culture imported from the old world through the path taken by Paulo Freire when analising the Brazilian society and the criticism of Roberto Gomes based on the view Brazilians about themselves and their own national identity. The next step was toward understanding the educatinal setting and, particularly, the education of adults lightened by the thought of Alvaro Vieira Pinto, Bernard Charlot and Antonio Joaquim Severino. Finally, we considered that philosophy, and from the perspective of this reflection, the Philosophy of Education present themselves as valuable allies in the teacher’s practice
