Resumo: Introduction: Newborn hearing screening (NHS) is an important health strategy that detects early hearing loss in newborns (NB). In Brazil, since 2010 the realization of TAN has become mandatory in all maternity hospitals and hospitals with deliveries, so that cases of deafness in neonates are identified as soon as possible (Brazil, 2010). Children with permanent hearing loss, may have several aspects of child development affected, including: speech and language development, academic performance, and may even affect the emotional development of parents and children (JCIH, 2019). The present study aims to describe the neonatal hearing screening protocols recommended in the literature, for neonates with and without Risk Indicators for hearing impairment. Method: An integrative literature review was carried out, which according to MENDES, SILVEIRA, GALVÃO (2008), is a search and synthesis of knowledge in order to answer a guiding question. The search for data occurred on the Google Academic and Lilacs platforms over a 5-year period. The following keywords were used: newborn hearing screening; universal newborn hearing screening; newborn hearing screening protocols; newborn hearing screening; universal newborn hearing screening and newborn hearing screening program. Results: Newborn Hearing Screening is a topic with a broad approach in the literature, in the period analyzed and with the cut-off of the guiding question. From 2018 to 2022 the sample was of 27 articles selected for this review being nine articles in 2018, four articles in 2019, five articles in 2020, seven articles in 2021 and two articles in 2022. Conclusion: There is a lack of standardization in the application of the test protocol in TANU. globally. The use of electrophysiological (PEATE) and electroacoustic (EOA) procedures is unanimous. There is a tendency to perform joint procedures (OAE + PEATE). More extensive research should be conducted
