In order to understand the evangelization of youth, especially in the context of Latin America, it is necessary to address the conclusions drawn up by the General Conferences of the Latin American and Caribbean Bishops, that is, since 1968 through the Conference held in Medellín, the Church Latin America presented many important points that will be developed over the years. Especially in the conferences held in 1955 in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), 1968 in Medellín (Colombia), 1979 in Puebla (Mexico), 1992 in Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic), and so far the last conference held was in Aparecida (Brazil) in 2007. During the Rio de Janeiro Conference, the thought regarding the creation of an episcopal council went through a maturation process, until at a certain moment, there was a vote among the prelates and by unanimous decision, they approved to ask the Holy Apostolic See for the creation of a Latin American Episcopal Council (CELAM). Another important factor in the evangelization of young people is the creation of World Youth Day by Pope John Paul II (Karol Józef Wojtyła) in 1985. An event that every three years the Pope meets with youth in order to bring hope and to the young people of the whole world. Pope Benedict XVI (Joseph Aloisius Ratzinger) was elected to continue the event. He was not afraid to meet young people and show them the beauty of the Church. He was at the forefront of the Church at the great moment of the internet, unlike what was expected, he recalled that these new means of communication should not be looked at with contempt, but with the spirit of acceptance, since these new technologies are a true gift from God. for every human being. After his resignation request on February 28, 2013, Pope Francis (Jorge Mario Bergoglio) was elected on March 13, 2013. election. In view of this, on October 6, 2016, Pope Francis announced the convocation and theme of the XV Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops: “Young people, faith and vocational discernment”. This synod took place in 2018 after a long period of listening to both the episcopal conferences and the young people themselves, generating the Final Document of the Synod. Pope Francis, based on the Final Document prepared by the Synod on Youth, helped the Holy Father himself in the preparation of the Post-Synodal Apostolic Exhortation Christus Vivit, a document that addresses youth for the Universal Church, that is, for the whole world
