Entre úteros e pandemônios: mulheres mães educadoras e suas significações durante o processo de isolamento social no ano de 2020

This research, which was anchored in Socio-Historical Psychology and in the assumptions of the Historical-Dialectical Materialist Method, had as its central objective, to explain and analyze the meanings of women educator mothers about their experiences during remote work in social isolation, imputed by the pandemic of Covid -19 in the year 2020 in Brazil. Four teachers were interviewed: two from the public education environment and two from the private sector, among which three were married and had 2 children each, and a single mother who had only one daughter. The survey and production of information were based on reflective interviews and on the procedures of Nuclei of Meaning, thus generating three nuclei: Demands of children and parental relationships: between paternal “help” or absence and maternal “functions”, before and during isolation, Nucleus 2 Educators in isolation: suffering experienced, the material abandonment of public schools and the excessive exploitation of private institutions. and Nucleus 3 The dichotomization of woman or mother: self-perception, overloads and absence of leisure. Through the interpretative analysis, and the theoretical resumption about feminism, the feminization of the teaching profession and the current political conjuncture and its historical contradictions, it is concluded that the meanings of the teachers revealed intense overload and frustration. Both in the private and public domains (of socialization and execution of formal work) the processes were mediated by the abandonment of the State and of public policies that promoted gender equality during the period, especially due to the impossibility of outsourcing care for children and with domestic demands while expanding professional demands
