Teaching by e-learning has been improving a lot in the Brazilian scenery lately and due to the importance it has been conquering, moreover by the possibility of knowledge democratization, it is essential to learn who are the authors involved in this process. From this knowledge it is possible to understand the current reality and visualize the probable future of EaD. The main purpose of this research is to analyze the importance of the teacher tutor performance on the e-platform courses and what is his relation and influence on the students’ motivation. The biographic research and data collecting were adopted as methodological procedures, both are used in exploratory nature. During the data collecting questionnaires were applied to some involved authors, that is teachers tutors and students from EaD specializations courses from PUC-SP in order to identify the authors profiles and check their opinion in relation to the importance of the teacher tutor’s performance in the teaching learning process. The research results revealed that the performance of the teacher-tutor is extremely important during the education process in EaD and he has great influence on the students´ motivation, however, these professionals have to be well prepared with a specific graduation, having a wide knowledge and self-confidence on the subject taught. They need to have the interaction tools and the virtual learning environment that are being used to develop a work of quality aiming to reach the ideal conception for EaD. Acting like that they can face and overcome the coming problem which can be considered of several types and implications for the teacher-tutor’s work. This matter deserves a deeper study to continue this research in the future
